Basell is the world leader and largest producer of polypropylene and advanced polyolefins products.  We are:

  • A leading supplier of polyethylene and catalysts. Our polyethylene (PE.) operations are based in Europe, where Basell is the largest producer of PE.
  • A global leader in the development and licensing of polypropylene and polyethylene processes.

We sell products in more than 120 countries, and have joint-venture manufacturing facilities around the globe. Our research and development laboratories in Europe, North America and the Asia-Pacific region allow us to continue our long tradition of product and technology innovation. 

Organised into Three Businesses

In order to continually improve our processes and extend our polyolefins portfolio, Basell has organized itself into three businesses:

  • The Advanced Polyolefins Business includes polypropylene compounds and other specialty products.
  • Our Polyolefins Business focuses on polypropylene and polyethylene.
  • The Technology Business includes licensing, catalyst development and sales, R & D and new projects.
